I have been in private practice since 1991 and my services include:
- Individual, marital and family therapy
- Forensic assessments in custody matters
- Supervision of other Psychotherapists
- Psychological evaluation of prospective adoptive parents as a part of their preparation and screening
I have also facilitated training psychologists in both relationship therapy and in forensic child custody matters.
Something about my services
My practice is equally focused on two primary areas.
Therapy
I do therapy with adult individuals, as well as a large amount of relationship (couples) therapy. I have also trained other psychologists in the area of relationship therapy. Most of my referrals come from medical doctors, psychiatrists and through word of mouth. I am a ‘to the point’, directive therapist, so the therapy process can be focused and short-term.
Child Custody Evaluations for Court
I have been doing custody evaluations since 1999 and have honed my methodology so that my reputation has evolved as a neutral, objective and fair investigator. Most of my referrals are from the legal profession, as I am well known to attorneys who practice Family Law. I am also often ordered by the Court to do investigations and have received referrals from the Office of the Family Advocate. I believe I am a clinician who is well known for thorough and comprehensive investigations that result in meeting the Best Interests of the Child Standard.

I am not contracted to medical aid so I will require payment at the end of each consultation. You can then claim from your medical aid.

Child custody evaluations and forensic work
I require that you contract with me regarding payments and procedures for these. Contracting is concluded prior to the commencement of an investgation. A deposit is also required to be paid before an investigation begins. This work is generally not covered by medical aid schemes, but it would be up to you to determine this with your particular medical aid.
